En pleno barrio de Salamanca, en la esquina de Padilla con Lagasca, encontramos uno de los anticuarios más distinguidos de Madrid: Cotanda.
Entre mobiliario y objetos procedentes de los siglos XVIII y XIX, escogidos con un ojo exquisito, encontramos también los más elegantes y delicados textiles.
Por un lado, la colección Jasper editada por el prestigioso decorador Michael S. Smith. Una mirada contemporánea a los diseños más clásicos. Sus telas responden al leit motiv del diseñador: 'todos deberíamos vivir rodeados de cosas hermosas'.
Por otro, la artesanía y el carácter de las telas de Namay Samay, bordadas y estampadas a mano con las técnicas propias del reino de Bután, en pleno Himalaya. El propio nombre de la firma no podría ser más adecuado, en butanés significa: "más allá del cielo, más allá de la tierra".
Ha sido muy gratificante descubrir que, a veces, las cosas más bellas están al alcance de la mano. Una visita a Cotanda equivale a una mañana en el Victoria & Albert de Londres.

On the other hand, the craftsmanship and character of Namay Samay fabrics, embroidered and printed by hand following Himalayan Kingdom of Buthan techniques. The name itself couldn't be more suitable, in the Buthanese language it literally means: "beyond sky and beyond earth".
It was so gratifying to discover that, sometimes, the most beautiful things are within reach. A visit to Cotanda could be equivalent to a morning at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
